Its been raining love all day-
Can you feel it?Love from my neighbor- but he doesn’t know it
Love from my brother- when he was making maple syrup
Love from the angels and messengers and even God.
It’s been raining peace all day
Can you feel it?
Little drops. The kind of rain that sticks to the grass blades and slowly trickles down into the ground
Peace from my friend
And peace from my son- when he was outside on his skateboard
Peace from the pastor and grocery bagger and dry cleaner.
I saw it in their eyes.
It’s been raining joy all day
Can you feel it?
Joy on my radio from Aretha Franklin and sugar sugar oh honey honey raisin bran blueberries
And the crocuses coming up though the just turned-spongy ground.
It’s been raining all day
And even though some people choose to talk about the weather
I choose instead to hear the love in your voice
I choose to hear your love through your words and movements
Your love rains down, gets picked up by the wind and soars past all the houses and telephone poles and into my heart
Where it gently waters the peace, joy and love that already are there- growing.
